Financial assistance is available to help local families and individuals facing crisis situations. To find out if you qualify and to apply for assistance, please read the information below.

Funding is currently closed. We will reopen and process applications on January 6th.

 

ENERGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS

Helping Hands Ministry of Belton offers Bell County residents help with their utility bills in partnership with the following energy companies:

Reliant Energy | TXU Energy | Ambit Energy | TriEagle Energy

If you live in Bell County and are a customer of one of the above companies, we may be able to help you pay your bill. Assistance may be received once a year with restrictions on the maximum amount paid.

 

Care Ministry: crisis relief

If you are facing an unexpected crisis or loss of income and need help paying a bill such as utilities or rent, we may be able to help.

  • You must live in East Bell County within the school districts of Belton, Academy, Holland, or Temple.

  • Only one person in your household may apply for financial help.

  • Financial help is for crisis situations, so it will only be given one time. If you need additional resources to manage your financial crisis, we’re happy to talk to you about additional services we can provide and other resources in our community.

  • All payments will be made directly to the vendor. No payments will be made directly to applicants.


Applying for Financial Assistance


What documents will I need to apply for financial assistance?

  • An ID

  • Income verification from the last 30 days (stubs from a paycheck, unemployment, SSI/SSDI, child support, etc.)

  • Depending on assistance requested a lease agreement, current utility bill, or current energy bill may be required.
